Pinnacle Book Achievement Award-Winning Jackie O: On the Couch Released as Audio Book for the First Time

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) June 22, 2012

For the first time ever, as of June 22, 2012, award-winning 2011 novel Jackie O: On the Couch is available as an audio book.

The Bancroft Press novel, a first-person biography of former first lady and icon Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, was written by psychoanalyst Dr. Alma Bond. The book is now narrated by voice actor Cynthia Wallace in an audio edition available through Amazons Audible.com.

Jackie O: On the Couch has been a top seller for Bancroft since its release last year, drawing substantial praise along the way. It won the 2011 North American Bookdealers Exchange (NABE) Pinnacle Book Achievement Award in the category of Historical Fiction.

It was a finalist in Historical Fiction in the 2012 International Book Awards.

The novel has also been praised by New York Resident Magazine, which called it a winner; First Lady historian-lecturer Feather Schwartz Foster, who called it thoroughly enjoyable; and book blog Biblophilia, which declared it the Most Surprising Book (In a Good Way) of 2011.

Were excited at the chance to release one of our best and most fascinating titles in audio book form, says publisher Bruce Bortz.

Audible.com, a website devoted to the sale of electronic audio books, makes its titles available through its own website, Amazon.com, and iTunes. Its a wide new market for Bancrofts bestselling work of historical fiction in its twenty-year history.

I wrote Jackie O: On the Couch to be Jackie Kennedy Onassiss life as she would have told it, says Bond. Thanks to Cynthia Wallace, a terrific narrator, I can now hear the book as Jackie would have read it.

Bond is the author of nineteen books, including The Autobiography of Maria Callas and nonfiction Old Age is a Terminal Illness, but this is her first audio book. Shes currently hard at work on two more first-person biographies, one about Marilyn Monroe and another featuring Michelle Obama.

Bancroft Press, located in Baltimore, MD, has been a prominent independent publisher of fiction and nonfiction for the last twenty years.

Marilyn Monroe 50 Years Later … with Permanent Lip Makeup

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 02, 2012

Marilyn Monroes lips are sealed in history. This is not referring to the validation of any still debated death conspiracy, alleged affairs with JFK and others, or the newly resurfacing question, Was Marilyn Monroe a lesbian? Marilyn Monroes lips are sealed as part of history 50 years after her passing because she was a pioneer by creating her groundbreaking sexy and spectacular look for them.

Marilyn Monroe has been gone 50 years, and Ive been doing permanent makeup half that time, admits Sally Hayes. Marilyns name is still the one most mentioned by women who come to me wanting permanent lip makeup so their lips can look more like hers.

Monroe remains an icon today for her impact on beauty, style, fashion, and cosmetics, as much as for her roles in 30 films as an actress. She is credited for inventing the concept of lip gloss and paving the way for the popular product widely used today. Because she worked so much on adding sex appeal to her image, appearance, and personal brand, she popularized the provocative, wet-lips look. Various Marilyn Monroe biographies report she developed her own unique system of applying a formula of multiple shades and layers of lipstick, petroleum jelly, and even beeswax to create the effect of her attention-getting lips.

I tell women all the time they have it so much easier than Marilyn Monroe, says Hayes, who has done tens of thousands of permanent makeup procedures enhancing the appearance of lips, eyebrows, and eyeliner with natural-looking results. With properly applied permanent lip makeup, there is no embarrassing smudging, smearing, or rubbing off. I simply cant imagine how much time, effort, and worry Marilyn Monroe put in every single day to perfecting her amazing looking lips especially since she was in the spotlight everywhere she went.
